Anxiety attacks possibly, 10 POINTS TO BEST ANSWER?I get this nasty feeling of dread and heaviness. the best word for it is overwhelmed. These "attacks" usually happen when i'm just relaxing or doing nothing and usually when i'm alone. My heart rate feel s to increase and everything, including myself, begins to feel heavy and loud, or overwhelming. I've timed them before and they always last 14 to 15 minutes long. sometimes i don't get them for months other times i get them 3 or 4 times a day?
i am twenty years old, and i have had these as far back as i can remember.
i really want to just know if there is someone who knows for sure if ther are panic/anxiety attacks.

I suffer from panic attacks also. Sometimes I have them and don't realize I am having one because I just don't feel good or there is a heaviness in my chest. And other times, they feel like what you have described. It is an awful feeling of not being in control. If you are getting these 3-4 times a day, why have you not seen a doctor? It is as easy as scheduling an appointment with your family doctor. Just describe your symptoms and they can prescribe medicine that you will take daily to help prevent the attacks. The doctor will probably, depending on your age, prescribe something for you to take when you feel a panic attack coming on to stop it. It really does help. More than likely if you have panic attacks, you also suffer from depression, you just don't realize it. The medicine helps with both. When I went on medication for the first time, I felt normal for the first time in my life. If you are under 18, you need to talk to your parents about this. You know this affects your life more than you admit.
