If I got my cardiac workup done and everything was normal, should i still go to a cardiologist?

Hi,I did the following:

If I got my cardiac workup done and everything was normal, should i still go to a cardiologist?Let start off by saying I'm 15 years old, 5'8 &150lbs.

I started having chest pains, so I went to my doctor.
My family doctor sent me to the ER because she didn't have the equipment to do my cardiac workup. Everything ended up being normal, but I was told that I have palpitations. The ER doctor said he didn't feel that I should be refered to cardiology. And I asked could there be something really wrong with my heart, and his reply was, "No, your way too young, it's probably anxiety."
I'm still having chest pains and I got my workup done about 1 1/2 moths ago, and my family doctor has me on Ativan.

Well i'm scared to ask to be refered to cardiology. I'm just scared to find out if anything is seriously wrong.

So my real question is:
If the problem was serious, would they have already found it in my complete cardiac workup?
My blood pressure is normally 135/80 and my blood was checked for hyperthyroidism, being that my grandmother had it, and everything came back fine.

Nope...not neccesarily...you may have some blood work done called a cardiac profile or panel...that may come back perfectly fine...you might have an EKG and that might be normal too...you have to have an ECHO of the heart...that shows the heart in motion in 3 or 4D...the tech can see the valves as they open and close...it's pretty cool...you might also need a stress test...it's just a treadmill exercise for 10 minutes...after every test I went through, the stress test actually was the only thing that showed any issues...PVC's...prevascular contractions I think that's what it means...and basically all that is is a twitch right before my heart beats after 10 minutes of strenuous exercise..not a problem really...Good luck,,,one test isn't enough...go for gold baby!

if the ativan isn't helping and u're not drinking too much coffee/ fainting or worsing chest pain on exercise, etc...you can go...but I'm willing to bet he's not gonna find anything...and that will probably be after a stress treadmill test...if you don't smoke, don't have family hx of heart problems <50yo, don't have high BP or diabetes, and no high cholesterol....given your age its very unlikely your heart unless there's some congenital problem or HOCM (valvular or cardiac heart muscle issue)...all much less likely compared to hyperthyroid or most likely high anxiety/ panic attack
